Around the House Spring 2019

It’s great to see the bulbs pushing up through the ground and we’re looking forward to the blossoms soon!

A new community event at the Mackie Lake House this spring is an Easter Egg Hunt on the lawns! Join us for a family-friendly Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 20, from 10 - 12 at Mackie Lake House. The hunt will kick off at 10:15 am, and it is BYOB - bring your own basket!

As the hunt winds down, take part in Easter-themed crafts as well as classic lawn games. There will also be prizes, including for best hand-made Easter basket. This event is fun for all ages and is a perfect way for families to enjoy a long weekend in the beautiful Okanagan. Admission is just $2 per person.

We have our School Field trip program happening in May.  Included in the field trip is a guided tour of the Historic Mackie Lake House including the history of the Lake House, the Mackie family and the Coldstream. The students also experience an interactive experience in Fylton Forest - an onsite outdoor classroom that facilitates exploration of our natural world.  We are happy to be partnering with the UBCO Community Placement program during this time.

Treat the special mother in your life to an elegant and decadent springtime tea at Mackie Lake House on Sunday, May 12 to celebrate Mother’s Day.  You’ll love our selection of teas, delicious finger sandwiches, fluffy scones with Devonshire cream and preserves, and decadent desserts. Tea is served in elegant fine bone China on the beautiful verandah overlooking Kalamalka Lake and our scenic gardens.  All guests have the option of touring through the exquisite country mansion and live music will complement the event. Tickets for this tea and tour are $45 per person, available only at www.ticketseller.ca

To kick off our Summer Teas we have created a Saturday Tea on July 6. Join us for our Elegant Saturday Tea with your semi-formal attire and ‘Downton Abbey’ hats!  Fancy floral dresses, gloves, ascots… all of the glamour of the early 20th century are welcome.
