Around the House
Late Spring 2020
Spring this year has had a very different feeling Around the House. There have been no children exploring Fylton Forest and the stories of the House and its families have not been told, but we know that one day we will once again share the tales and hear the laughter!
We are bidding a fond farewell to Christine as she enters into a new phase: “Retirement”. We know that for Christine, retirement is just another term for new adventures and we look forward to seeing what life brings here.
In the midst of COVID19 craziness, our new manager, Valerie, has begun her job. It is quite a different beginning than we had planned, but Valerie and Ruth are back working at the House with just the occassional volunteer dropping in and things feel a bit more normal. Our plans for the summer have completely changed as we are limited in the number of people we can have on the grounds at any one time. There will be no live music this summer as our summer concerts involve too many people to make sure everyone is safe. We are trying to plan for a modified Tea for the summer. Perhaps a box picnic on the lawn? Keep watching for information!
We hope that all who read this are safe and healthy and enjoying the beautiful days of May, soon to be June.
Be kind, be calm, be safe.
